Please help, I've had HPV genital warts for 2 year.?
My girlfriend had gotten hpv 2 years ago, a few months later came the genital warts, which were treated and cleared up. About half a year later I noticed I had some bumps around my genital area. I showed my doctor, who told me they looked like skin irritation but not HPV genital warts, and that I wouldn't have to worry. 2 years later I'm positive I have Genital warts from HPV. I tried aldera, with out a prescription for a few weeks and nothing worked. They've spread to my scrotum and around the base of penis. I'm feeling stressed, ashamed, and embarrassed, and unsure of what to do. I feel almost screwed over by my doctor. I've read that burning treatments are very painful and the warts will often grow back. I'm not sure what options I have, or how long it will take them to clear up on their own. Information I get from the internet is sketchy at best. I feel like these things are never going away. If there is anyone who has dealt with this and has some solid advise, please help. Thanks.

Go to the doctor and have them remove them. All they do is apply acid with a q-tip to each one. And it burns only for a second. Then days later they go away. ITS no big deal. And they usually do not come back.
Thats what my husband and i both did and it didnt even hurt…it will just itch in the spot they did it in…not a big deal at all.
Go to a different doctor about your problem and explain again to them what you have said in the information above and they will defo give you a clear reliable answer.[=
First of, go to a different doctor. Second, Aldara takes awhile to work, so I’m not convinced it won’t work for you. It takes a few weeks, maybe even 6-8 weeks, to fight off the virus. THEN, the warts will start to dissappear as your skin renews itself. It can be a long process, but it’s totally better than getting them burnt or frozen off. Give it a chance to work.
Just go to a urologist or dermatologist and have them burned off. It really doesn’t hurt and it’s much faster. Stubbing your toe hurts worse.
Aldera takes THREE months to work and I haven’t heard of it prescribed to men but could be.
A second opinion is definitely what you need.
Shame isn’t going to get you anywhere. You didn’t give this to yourself. Many, many people have it. You would be very surprised and some don’t even know they have it.
This is a new normal for you and you will have to live with it if it is in fact HPV ( warts). You will just have to adjust the way you date and tell people in advance. I know easier said then done but you will learn to live with it. It’s not a death sentence.
Surgery is also an option. Your talk your doctor about:
* Use an electric current to burn off the warts
* Use a light/laser to destroy warts
* Freeze off the warts
* Cut the warts out
Annoyingly, whatever the treatment, there is a 30% chance that the warts will come back – usually after a few weeks or months. This is because the treatments destroy the wart itself, but cannot get rid of the HPV in the skin beneath the wart.
