Is it safe to remove a mole myself?

If I have a mole that's about 1/4 inch in diameter and 1/4 tall, is it safe to cut if off myself? I've heard cutting off moles results in lots of bleeding and I don't want to bleed to death or get infected. If it's ok, what's the best way to do it?

Your mole could be a small hemangioma. It will bleed if you don’t cauterize its base after you remove it. Once it is removed EVERY mole should go to a pathologist for examination. Beside melanoma, a very aggressive tumor of the skin, many other conditions may require further treatment after the mole is removed and analyzed, though most are benign. A complication of removing a mole on your own is infection. But why do you want to suffer pain when a tiny amount of local anesthetic and an aseptic procedure can make the process painless and safe? Go to your General Practitioner. He or she can help you.
hope this helps.
See a doctor. They need to check for skin cancer.
No…see your doctor!!!
NO! is dangerous. ask your doctor for something that you can do about it
You should never try to remove moles, or skin tags by yourself you can cause a severe infection.
no it can come back or the skin under it can turn cancerous
No, go to the doctor. Be Safe…
That would not be wise friend. Bleeding, infection, other complications could cause problems. See a dermatologist or general surgeon, be safe….good luck. I had one removed by a general surgeon, no big deal.
i’d rather you didn’t, and i’ll list the reasons why:
Although you will NOT bleed to death, it will hurt like hell
you will bleed a fair bit before clotting comes into effect, so get some napkins or bandaids ready.
it could get infected
it could scar over later on….
no!!! of course notgo to the doctor, u might get infected.
its not smart to cut it off yourself. i got a mole removed at the doctor and its easy and painless. they literally just scoop it out. thats the best way to go. you should’t do it urself b/c it could get infected so easily.
NOOOOOO!!! A mole is an abnormal cell growth. Even if it were to be self-removed (please don’t do) it needs to be checked to see if it is cancerous. So you might as well go to the doctor.
