Genital Warts…what is the tool called that docs use to freeze them?
What is the tool that dermatologists use to freeze off genital warts? I'm sick of going to the doctor to have this old half blind broad do it, and aim poorly or not completely it's ridiculous. I could do an infinately better job myself. I swear just because someone has the label "doctor" they supposedly can "aim " better and I shouldn't try it myself? what horse manure that is. I have the eyes and hands of a jeweler. I should be able to burn them off myself. The amount of beaurocracy and nonsense in reguards to health and self healing sickens me (no pun intended) . I think with my own research and watching the "experts" do a piss poor job, I'm more than qualified to monitor and treat myself at least on this particualr job.(not the issue as a whole, I will still see a doctor, . What's the tool called? It's liquid Nitro right?
the home kits you can buy at the drugstore made my compound-w wont work for genital warts , because the giant swab is far too clumbsy and innaccurate ...the ones the dematologist uses shoots a very accurate pinpoint shot... can these be had by the public... legally... i would think if you lived in the middle of nowhere you should be able to do it yourself (or if your doctor is blind, and are sure you coudl do a better job.

I’m a doctor who seems to spend half his life freezing genital warts. It’s not rocket science, and if you have a jeweller’s steady hand and eye you could probably do a better job than I could. If you’re talking vaginal warts it could be tricky doing your own, but penile warts ought to be straightforward.
Make sure you have the diagnosis clear before you start.
Effective genital wart treatment usually just requires having the offending tissue frozen solid for a minute or so without having too much of the surrounding tissue affected. You may need to repeat at weekly intervals.
I have a cryotherapy canister and probe which sprays liquid nitrogen on to the wart. I don’t know the official name for this tool – I just call it a "cryo-gun". Quite frankly, I reckon it’s a crap unit – very difficult to control the flow and avoid overspray. I prefer to make a cotton bud by winding cotton wool over a matchstick and dipping it directly into into the N2 and applying it that way – much more accurate. I’ve used other units in the past, though, that were really good.
Try using one of the over the counter kits, but rather than applying it directly try applying the cooling agent to a cotton bud, and then apply the cold bud to the wart. What you’re aiming for is just to give the wart a minute of frostbite. Warts elsewhere on the body usually need a more thorough application than genital ones.
Cryosurgery is the process of freezing off the warts. They use liquid nitrogen or a cryosurgical probe.
This is not something you should attempt yourself. Change docs if you don’t like the one you’ve been using. Get a referral from the local medical society, call the local hospital for a referral, or go to a local Planned Parenthood clinic if you are short of funds.
they do sell a wart freezing kit at the drugstore.
