Could Salicylic acid and tea tree oil be counterproductive?

I want to clear acne and blemishes and i've heard both of these clear acne. Could i mix a salicylic acid astringent with a tea tree oil?
I have oily skin.

i still cannot believe people will put salicylic acid on their face…it is only going to aggravate and severely dry your skin which will only make your acne worse. the best thing i have found for treating mild acne is first off, get on the right birth control pill for your body chemistry. second, only wash your face with MILD cleansers that are none abrasive! if you have dry skin, use a light moisturizer and apply the tea tree oil to your blemishes.
