Can I use tea tree oil shampoo on my face?

I have tea tree oil shampoo that I have never used before, but i've heard that tea tree oil really helps with acne. Will the fact that it's shampoo effect how it works on my skin?

um. no. its meant for hair. look for tree oil FACE washes instead
NO! don’t do that. get real organic tea tree oil. NOT shampoo. that’ll just make you break out.

er. I don’t think it’s a good idea to use shampoo on your face.

Tea Tree oil may be applied directly to the skin to stimulate regeneration of injuries and fight bacterial and fungal infection. If you have sensitive skin, you may want to dilute it with a little olive oil. A Massage Oil can also be used as a carrier oil since it is formulated especially for skin absorption. Internally: To fight infections (bacterial or fungal) take a few drops well diluted with water.
